Clubs
|
The Institute has
Music, Hindi Drama, English Drama, Hindi Press, English Press Clubs,
Creative Activities Centre and English Language Activities and Hindi
Activities Societies. These clubs and societies are wholly and
solely managed by the students and have in the past contributed much
to the cultural life of the campus and to the cultural evolution of
the students. In addition to these the Institute runs Recreational
Activity Forum, Photography Club, Radio Club, Swimming Club, Cuckoo
Club and Trekker's Club whose membership is open to students and
staff. Traditionally students organize OASIS, a cultural festival
sometime during the days adjoining Dussehra or Diwali. The students
also organize A Professions-Oriented Gathering Over Educational
Experience (APOGEE), an Academic Week during the Second Semester
which may be aptly described as the academic get-together of the
University Youth.
Interest in music and fine arts is always being promoted in the
campus. The theatrical arts have also been encouraged by inviting
Dance Drama Troupes from time to time. The Institute also organises
Theatre and Dance workshops. A classical music circle called `Ragamalika’
aims at encouraging budding talent among the students in music and
dance. It also arranges performances by leading artists in the field
of classical music and dance. For more details, please click

Recreational Activity Forum (RAF) regularly organizes film shows for
the BITS community. BITS being an all-India Institute, there are
also regional associations like Andhra Samiti, Pilani Tamil
Mandram, Maharashtra Mandal, Moru Chhaya, Kairali etc.
conducting several special programmes on festive occasions. RAF also
organises SPIC-MACAY programmes to promote Indian Classical Music
and Culture amongst youth.
Departments
Apart
from the above mentioned Clubs and regional associations there a lot
of departments in BITS, who are entrusted with the job of organizing
the various festivals conducted in BITS round the year. A brief
