I did my graduation in Pharmacy (B. Pharm) from Lachoo Memorial College of Science and Technology, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, post graduation in Biotechnology (M. E. Biotech.) and Ph D. from Center for Biotechnology, Biological Sciences Group, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Rajasthan. At present I'm working here as Assistant Professor

Courses taught / teaching/Planning to teach

  • General Biology

  • Laboratory Techniques

  • Genetic Engineering

  • Instrumentation Methods of Analysis

  • Cell Biology

  • Experimental Techniques

  • Microbial Fermentation Technology

  • Recombinant DNA Technology

  • Advanced Cell Molecular Biology

  • Research Interest

I'm working on the Apicoplast Genome of Plasmodium vivax. We are the first to report complete sequences of some major coding regions from P. vivax Apicoplast Genome. I'm trying to characterize differences between the P. vivax and P. falciparum Apicoplast genome. My other areas of research interest include malaria vaccine candidate antigens, Apicoplast metabolic and signaling pathways, Malaria Parasite Biology and Immunology, Cell and Molecular biology, Gene Transcriptional and Translational Regulation, Transgenic Technology, Cell Biology and Cancer Biology.

    Awards/Honours

    • Young Scientist Award for Best Poster Presentation at International Workshop on Molecular Epidemiology & Immunology Of Malaria And Other Vector Borne Diseases at RMRCT, Jabalpur, M. P., INDIA
    •   CSIR - Senior Research Fellowship from May 2003 - October 2006.
