Travel Advisory for students taking their examinations at Pilani


This travel advisory is primarily meant for students who may want to book accommodations at various guest houses, hotels etc. at Pilani for the purpose of staying during their examination, in view of infeasibility of directly handling accommodation requests by BITS, Pilani.


Normally, limited accommodation on twin-sharing basis will be available at special concessional rates (upto Rs. 600/- per day) for students at the BITS VFAST Hostel. There is no need to make any advance booking for the VFAST Hostel.

The following provides guesthouse name, and contact numbers where available, so as to enable the travelers to directly contact the respective persons and request reservation of room.

BITS, Pilani has its own Medical Center to cater to any emergency. During the summer months of October to November, the weather is likely to be wildly cold and dry at Pilani. So, the travelers are advised to take appropriate precautions and carry a bottle of drinking water with them always during their stay at Pilani.

How to Reach Pilani?
Pilani can be reached either by rail or by road. The nearest railway stations are Chirawa on Western Railway (16 Km) and Loharu on Northern Railway (24 Km). There are regular bus services between Delhi and Pilani, and Jaipur and Pilani. The buses leave Delhi from the main Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), Kashmere Gate, and Jaipur from Rajasthan State Roadways Bus stand, Sindhi Camp. From the Delhi airport, direct buses to Chirawa are available from Dhaulakuan/Mahipalpur terminals. Preferably, take only the direct Buses from Delhi/Jaipur to Pilani. Rented taxis are also available from Delhi Jaipur Railway Station/ Bus Stand/ Airport. Please refer to route map to Pilani. The campus is very close to Pilani bus stand.

From Delhi: The most convenient route to reach Pilani from Delhi is to take a bus from the Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT), Kashmere Gate at Delhi, which takes about five and a half hours to reach Pilani. You can also take a train from Sarai Rohilla Railway Station in New Delhi to Loharu Station. The departure timings of trains at Sarai Rohilla Station are 8.50 A.M, 9.15 P.M & 11.00 P.M. Loharu is 25 km away from Pilani. Buses and jeeps are available from Loharu to Pilani. The BITS campus is very close to the Pilani bus stand.
From Jaipur: You can also board a bus from Rajasthan State Roadways Bus Stand at Sindhi Camp, Jaipur to reach Pilani in around five and a half hours.

How to reach Delhi / Jaipur from Pilani:


Pilani to Delhi: Buses are available almost once every hour (5 AM to 5 PM) from Pilani to Delhi ISBT. Night buses are also available from Pilani at around 10:15 PM, 10.45 PM and 12:30 AM. Buses from Chirawa to Delhi (Dhaulakuan, via Gurgaon) are also available almost once every hour. Chirawa is 15 KM from Pilani.
