From the Editor's Desk

Finally a long-standing dream of the entire CF fraternity becomes a reality and we proudly present to you the first ever electronic edition of CACTUS FLOWER, the annual magazine of BITSians. The encouragement from all sides was enormous but in-house help were few and hard to come by. And we cannot blame anyone for it. At last CACTUS FLOWER 2003 is ready to be available on the net and that is what matters in the end. CF has been my dream, destiny and perhaps in some way my nemesis too. It has taken me into realms never visited, it has given me friends whom I will never forget and it has taught me what life really is. I started my work as CF Ed in the 2nd year. Now in the 3rd year and the magic remains the same. Chaos rules my mind, confusion is my travelling companion but determination clears all darkness. This definitely will not be the best "e-edition" of CF but still it is the first and the two persons who have made this dream turn into a reality are Aashutosh Magdum and Aurovind R. Their dedication to CF has been unfailing and I am lucky I had them as my friends. This e-edition is theirs; I have merely been an observer. All the seniors whom I'll never meet in life this CF is also for you, to look at it and remember those days gone by, to reminisce and recall all those modest ecstasies of life. That is what we are all about; presenting life to you in its bare rawness and innocence. This e-edition is almost like us, not perfect but straight from the heart; our final tribute to the undying BITSian spirit.

Yours in CF,
Madhurjya Banerjee
