Research Interests 

·        Optical communication components

·        WDM and DWDM systems

·        Nonlinear optical (NLO) phenomena in crystals, second order NLO materials and devices

·        Electrooptic phenomena, materials and devices   

Current Research Projects

1.      Polymer Waveguide based optical power splitters funded by Department of Information Technology (DIT), Govt. of India. This is a two year project operational from July 2006, and aims at fabrication of 1 x N (N = 2,4,8) splitters. Click here to learn more about the work.

2.      Development of periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) chips for applications as optical parametric amplifiers and oscillators funded by  Instruments Research & Development Establishment (IRDE), Dehra Dun. This project is of one year duration and is expected to be operational soon.
