Dr. Arya Kumar (Chief, EDIPR)
Prof. Arya Kumar, is presently Chief Entrepreneurship Development & IPR Unit and Group Leader of Economics & Finance Group at BITS, Pilani. He is also coordinating the activities of Technology Business Incubator at BITS, Pilani. He did his M A (Hons) Economics First class First in his batch and PhD from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani in the year 1982 in the area of Financial Management of Higher Education in India. He has a diversified experience for more than 31 years of serving in educational institutions, research organizations, banks and financial institutions. He served as Chief General Manager and Zonal Head of Delhi Zone in Industrial Investment Bank of India, an All India Financial Institution till July 2003. He was actively involved with Project Financing, Investment banking and Reconstruction of ailing units in different capacities between 1990 and 2003 in the banking industry.
His basic interests lie in Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Values in Management and Financial Management. He has co-authored three books in the area of General Management, Ethics in Management, and Grassroots Entrepreneurship. He has contributed many research articles in National Journals and Economic Dailies in the area of entrepreneurship, management and economics. He was Guest Faculty with number with leading management institutions and colleges of various Banks. He has successfully completed Entrepreneurship Educators Course jointly organised by STVP, Stanford University, IIM Bangalore and National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) . He is a member of the NEN India Faculty Advisory Board.
Dr. Usha Manjunath
Dr. Usha Manjunath is an Assistant Professor in Management, BITS, Pilani and a Nucleus Member of EDIPRU. She holds an M.Sc (Speech & Hearing, AIISH, Mysore), M.Phil (Hospital & Health System Management) and Ph.D. in Total Quality Services for Hospitals from BITS, Pilani. Usha has over 12 years of experience in the professional field of Speech Pathology and Audiology in various organizations including Charitable Organizations, Schools and Hospitals in India and U.S.A. She is currently teaching at BITS, Pilani for the last 7 years in the areas of Psychology, Communication, HRM, Organizational Behavior and Healthcare Management. She has developed a course curriculum on Services Management System and conducting the course successfully. She convened the 2nd National Convention on Entrepreneurship through Innovation in 2007 and has conducted modules in Entrepreneurship Workshops for faculty and students in the area of Technology Entrepreneurship. Usha delivers special lectures to different professionals, managers and teachers on Personality, Motivation, Stress Management, Communication and Emotional Intelligence. She was a part of Project Initiation and Feasibility Study for a non-voice BPO initiative for Rural Youth and currently a Member of the Advisory Board for “Pilani BPO Pvt. Ltd.,” started in 2007. Usha is a member of Association of Indian Management Scholars International, Houston, Texas, U.S.A.
Dr. Omvir Chaudary
Dr. Omvir Chaudary is an Assistant Professor in Managament, BITS, Pilani who has interest in Financial Economics, Investment Analysis, Environmental Economics, Health Economics, Project Appraisal. Omvir has done M. A. Economics from BITS Pilani 1978 and Ph.D. Economics from CCS University, Meerut. He has an experience of 5 years as Chairman, Computer Society of India, Muzaffarnagar chapter.
Mr. A.K. Vaish
MR.A.K.Vaish
is the Visiting Faculty of Finance. He completed B.E.( Hons.) Chemical Engineering; M.B.A.;JAIIB. He has around 17 years of experience including 14 years of banking experience and teaching experience. He has diverse experience from working at shop floor to marketing and credit/finance/banking.He has worked in various domain of banking like retail banking, credit, audit, treasury and wholesale banking operations in public as well as private sector banks. He has vast experience of nurturing Small and medium enterprises especially in promotion of rural entrepreurship.
Mr. Rajan Pandey
Mr. Rajan Pandey completed his graduation in Finance from BITS, Pilani post which he joined JPMorgan Chase Bank, Mumbai. He worked as Fund Accounting Specialist at JPMorgan in the Mutual Fund operations. With a corporate experience spanning almost 3 years he has joined BITS, Pilani Economic and Finance Dept to pursue his academic interests and is presently associated in two courses viz. Financial Management and Security Analysis and Portfolio Management as a co-instructor. His key areas of interest include that of Risk Modeling, Forecasting and Portfolio Management. As a new member of EDIPR Unit he aspires to get actively involved in promoting entrepreneurship awareness and education culture in the institute.
