Admission to higher degree programs is highly competitive and are made through a computer based online test called BITS MANAGEMENT APTITUDE TEST.
Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination to appear in the admission test for BITS is 60% marks.
Out of the many candidates who appear in online exam every year, approximately 40 are admitted.
2. Academics
BITS education system is highly innovative and provides a lot of academic flexibilities.
The emphasis on first two semesters is to inculcate a strong fundamental in different areas of management like finance, marketing operations, HR.
The course contents are reviewed regularly to keep pace with the recent advancements around the world.
Academics is meticulously organized. A complete day-by-day plan for the class room teaching program and evaluation scheme for the full semester is handed over to the students at the start of the semester.
The evaluation model is continuous internal evaluation and is very open. All examination papers are returned to the students after evaluation along with model solution.
A student obtains a relative grading for each course and his final CGPA is cumulative for the courses done at BITS in a 10 point scale.
3. Faculty
The faculty of Management Group of the Institute consists of a rich blend of people with diverse academic background and invaluable industry experience.
Eminent guest lecturers from the industry visit the institute frequently to share their experiences with the students.
4. All round development of students
The Institute provides all the required facilities for sports and recreation to ensure overall development of every student.
Students can join various clubs existing on the campus for example Music Club, Astronomy Club, Photography club, Poetry club, Dance club, Mime club, etc.
The Students' Activity Centre is the nerve centre of all student activities on the campus. A number of literary and social activities take place on the campus through out the year.
Each year students organize a National Level Sports meet called BOSM, a National Level Cultural meet called OASIS, all India Management Convention called INTERFACE and a Academic week, called APOGEE.
Soft Skill: BITS educational system puts ample opportunities for development of Soft skill & Emotional Intelligence. Many courses have mandatory class room presentation and group discussion components which help improve communication skill.
Many students learn foreign languages like German, French, Japanese etc. on campus.
5. Alumni
BITS Pilani Management Group is proud to have as its alumni a large number of illustrious and world renowned Engineers, Scientists and Entrepreneurs.
Numerous alumni are actively engaged in the Institute's affairs as volunteers, locally and across the world, through the Alumni Association, BITSAA. Adding value through alumni-student interactions such as the Mentorship Programme, Embryo initiative etc.
6. Ranking
BITS is accredited in 1999 (with the highest five-star rating) by the Government of India's National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
BITS is re-accredited in 2008 by NAAC with highest grade A and with a CGPA of 3.71, one of the highest so far in the country. This grading and CGPA is combined rating for its campuses in Pilani, Goa and Dubai.
