University Industry Linkage

BITS is a pioneer in the field of University-Industry linkages and its bold and radical innovations in this regard have no parallel in India. The Practice School method of education, a controlled simulation of real-life, adopted at BITS creates circumstances whereby the university is linked with the world of work. Thus the Practice School institutionalizes efforts to build the long needed bridge between the professional world and the educational world. The Practice School programme for B.Pharm., has two components, namely Practice School-I of two months’ duration implemented during the summer following the 2nd year and Practice School-II of five and a half months’ duration implemented during either of the semesters of the final year. M.Pharm., students have the option of doing five and a half months’ Practice School in their fourth semester in lieu of dissertation on campus.

The First degree as well as Higher degree students get an opportunity to work through the practice school component in the organizations namely; Concept Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Aurangabad,; Regional Research Laboratory, Jammu; Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Ahmedabad; Torrent Research Centre, Ahmedabad; Novartis Enterprises Pvt Ltd., Mumbai; Dr. Reddy’s Lab., Hyderabad; Dr. Morepan Labs, Chandigarh; IPCA Labs, Mumbai; Merind, Mumbai; Strides Arcolabs, Bangalore; Hetero Drugs, Hyderabad; CDRI, ITRC, Lucknow; Institute of Cardio-Vascular Diseases, Chennai; B.V. Patel Pharma. Edu. Res. & Dev. Centre (PERD), Ahmedabad.

Under Ph.D. aspirants’ scheme professionals from industry, academia and research organizations can pursue Ph.D. without being dislocated from their workplace.
