Rahul Banerjee PhD (CSE)

Rahul Banerjee is currently an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani. He holds a PhD in CSE. His current research and teaching interests are in the areas of Computer Networks and Pervasive Computing.

He has led / participated in several externally funded research projects including those funded by the European Commission, Government of India (DoE/DIT-MCIT, DEC etc.), the French Government (FMoFA, INRIA, GET, Telecom-Bretagne etc.), several corporate laboratories including the Microsoft Research (Redmond).

He has been a member of four IEEE Technical Committees and a co-opted member of a specific sectional subcommittee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) of the Government of India.

He has been a reviewer for several international journals, magazines and conferences including the IEEE Transactions on Computers, IEEE Internet Computing, IEEE Communications, International Journal of Computer Networked and Distributed Systems (IJCNDS), IISc Journal etc.

Also, he is an Editor of the International Journal of Computer Networked and Distributed Systems (IJCNDS).

He has an overall experience of about twenty five years of which the last eleven years have been acquired at BITS Pilani (as Assistant Professor in CS and later as Associate Professor in CS). He has held professional memberships of the ACM, ISCA (LM), IE, ISTE (LM) and CSI.

At BITS-Pilani, he has been associated with several technology-oriented initiatives since 1998.
