The Computer Networking, Mobile & Distributed Computing Research Group (CNetMobDC Research Group) is one of the several research groups of the Department of Computer Science at BITS-Pilani. It engages in  engaging in active research and development (both PhD-directed and sponsored research kind) in a range of areas of relevance including but not limited to the following:

·        Network Protocol Engineering (Self-Healing Network Protocols, Optical Networking Mechanisms and Protocols etc. included)

·         Infrastructure and Ad-hoc Wireless Networking (both Mobile and Fixed; MANETs, Wi-Fi, Wi-Max, ZigBee, Bluetooth <Wireless Sensor Networking> included)

·         Network Quality of Service (at different levels, including MPLS VPNs, DiffServ etc.)

·        Smart-cards, RFID and WSN-enabled Location-aware  Distributed Monitoring and Security Systems

·        Peer-to-Peer Networking

·        Cluster / Grid / Cloud Computing and other forms Network-based Virtualization Technologies

·        Network and Internet Security

·        Delay-Tolerant Networking

·        Web-Services and Rich Internet Applications

·        Wearable Computing Systems (E-textiles, Body Area Networking, BSN included)

Currently, it comprises of a few faculty members and research scholars engaged at various levels of work involving doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s students.
