Second Semester: 2009-2010 Assignment-2 This assignment is theoretical in nature
and does expect you to spend a reasonable amount of time in the library and /
or the authentic digital resources available on the Internet. The submission must be in the form of a
.tar / .rar / .gzip file
containing a reporting .pdf format, source code /
script, makefiles (if any), test data sets and a Readme file with necessary
information. You
may also select a topic which is not there in the list, if you have a better
idea, with prior permission from the instructor-in-charge by meeting him in
person. Assignment
statement: Part-1: You have to identify any
existing multiple access Layer-2 protocol information about which is publicly
available and identify its principal design goals, its principal strengths
and weaknesses etc. Your proposed solution
should handle at least one of the identified weaknesses (along with its justification). Part-2: In addition to the above, please do one of the following:

Please prepare a summary
report not exceeding eight pages in your own language. You are required to
additionally submit all your source code / script, any makefiles,
any compilation / environmental setup information necessary for testing your
work and a readme file explaining the arrangement of submitted elements /
files stating rationale of respective
element’s inclusion. Please do NOT submit
executables. In order to strengthen
your report, you are also expected to carefully identify and cite at least
one appropriate (relevant) IEEE 802 Standard of relevance. Please provide a complete list
of ALL the resources consulted by you on the last page using the citation
style of the IEEE Transactions on Computers. Reports must be uploaded online at the IntraBITS
website of the course before the deadline: 23/02/2010. No Email
attachments shall be accepted. Please retain a printout with you for bringing
it along with you at the time of defense. |
