Consultancy Research-driven and other forms of consultancy may be
undertaken, when approached, subject to concurrence from BITS-Pilani. Areas of Consultancy Computer
Networking / Internetworking, Mobile Computing, Wearable Computing,
Ubiquitous / Pervasive Computing, Network / Internetwork Security, Streamed
Multimedia delivery, Operating Systems (Embedded OSes
included) and related areas of computing Consultancy Charges Not all consultancy work
involves charges of monetary nature. A significant amount of
consultancy can be done without charging even a single penny if the
consultancy serves a larger goal that amounts to touching lives of many of
underprivileged people irrespective of whichever part of the world the
request comes from. Professional consultancy
charges (for assignments of normal difficulty / effort level) ·
Day-long / Half-Day Lectures at Corporate etc.: USD 200 per hour
abroad, Rs. 10,000 per hour in India ·
Day-long / Half-Day Lectures at Non-Profit R. & D.
Organizations etc.: USD 100 per hour abroad, Rs.
5,000 per hour in ·
Hour-long / Two-hour Lectures at Centres
of Excellence, if they charge nothing from the participants: Zero Dollars /
Rupees Research-based Consultancy
charges involving at least one person- month of work: Euro 10,000 per
person-month or equivalent amount in USD abroad. These charges listed here, do not include costs towards
Transportation (by Air / Train <if no air connectivity exists> / Car as
the case may require), Lodging/Boarding and Service Tax. etc.
as per applicable laws of the land. How would the Consultancy charges be paid and to whom? All consultancy charges shall be directly payable to “BITS Pilani”. BITS, as per its internal policy and
involved expenses etc., will retain an appropriate percentage of the charged
consultancy fee before disbursing the remaining amount to the consultant (s)
actually contributing to the completed consultancy. This payment may be made through Crossed
Demand Draft payable to “BITS Pilani” or Wire
Transfer (Electronic Transfer through secure Banking Methods) to a designated
BITS Pilani account. Prior consultation with BITS Pilani is advisable. How to approach? Any organization legally registered in its country can
approach me at the contact coordinates indicated below by Email (official
Email) or Postal Mail (if sent by postal mail, letter should be on the
official letterhead). Initial enquiries may consider use of telephone /
video-conferencing methods as well. Consultancy Policy No consultancy shall be undertaken if the
resultant work could be directly or indirectly used for any kind of
disruptive purposes. No consultancy
requiring an exclusive binding to a single organization shall be acceptable. BITS Pilani’s
prior approval has to be sought by the consultant and for this reason, proper documentation may have to be provided by
the requesting agency. |
