The ASME Student Section of BITS-Pilani was established in September, 2008 to provide engineering students the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the technical world, showcase their talent and network with professionals and other student members from all over the world. Currently comprising of 160 student members the section works under the able guidance of our Faculty Advisor Prof. Ravi Prakash and Faculty Co-Advisor Mr. J.S Rathore.

We believe in inculcating the spirit of innovation and leadership by supporting student member participation in international and national design and paper competitions. The section in association with the Mechanical Engineering Association of BITS-Pilani, invokes participation in various renowned technical festivals of the country. Project ideas formulated by the section members are displayed as under the Mechanical Engineering Association during APOGEE, the national technical festival of BITS-Pilani.

The Section has conducted a variety of interesting and out-of-the box technical events and quizzes for our members like The Water Rocket, Shifting Gears and Crash'n'Combine to name a few. Apart from it lectures and workshops are conducted throughout the semester for the members.
