A slew of interesting events were organized by SAE BITS – Pilani.
LECTURES:
A series of lectures on flight dynamics were organized under the able tutelage of Mr. Kirti Prakash an ex-pilot and an avid aero -modeler. The lecture series was followed by a workshop on assembling of free flight balsa wood models. Various models such as gnome, magpie, martin and inchworm were assembled by the students during the workshop.
An invited lecture was also taken by Mr. Anup Bhatt (Member R&D team @ M.U.L) on the mpfi technology being used by M.U.L in its cars. Also present at the lecture was Mr. A.D. Sindwani (Head, Northern Section, S.A.E India).
INDUSTRIAL VISITS:
Industrial visits being organized to Essar Motors Assembly Line located in Faridabad, the facility at Anand Motors’ IMT plant in Manesar, Gurgaon, Maruti Suzuki and Hero Honda. The industrial visits were organized with aim to gain an understanding of how the various parts are tested, assembled and are synchronized before they attain the form of an automobile.

UDAAN...the glider show
The first of its kind air show to be organized in the Vidya Vihar Campus of BITS Pilani. The show was a demonstration of radio controlled gliders by professionals. The event was organized in the Birla Gliding Club’s campus and witnessed a huge turnout.

AUTOMECHANICA:
A quiz dealing with the present and past of the automotive sector was also organized. It tested once general knowledge about the current trends and happenings in the various fields of automotive sector be it industrial practices, the world of motor sports or the ever expanding field of technological developments.
