Dr. Gourab Sil is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Transportation Systems Engineering in the Civil
Engineering Department at Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IITI), India. Before joining the IITI, he worked at
Birla Institute of Technology Pilani, Rajasthan. He received his Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology
Bombay, India in 2019. His doctoral research work was on 'Modelling Drivers' Speed Choice and Sharpness Perception of
Horizontal Curves for Consistent Design'. His research interests broadly include Performance Based Geometric Design of
Highways, Traffic Engineering, Safety of Roadway Infrastructure, and Understanding effects of Highway Infrastructure on
Driver Behavior. He has published in a number of renowned journals, including Journal of Transportation Engineering,
Part A: Systems, ASCE, Transportation Letters: The International Journal of Transportation Research, and Transport. He
has been actively involved in teaching several courses on Transportation Systems Engineering.
