Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani), declared a Deemed to be University in 1964, was conferred the distinction of Institution of Eminence in 2020 by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. The qualities of innovation, enterprise, commitment to excellence, adherence to merit, and transparency, have characterized the Institute during its inexorable march to eminence.
Over the span of 58 years, across its campuses, the Institute has been offering educational programmes that are academically rigorous, broad-based, modular, flexible, and relevant to the needs of industry and society, with the agility to adapt to the changing environment, at all three levels, namely, Integrated First Degree, Higher Degree and the Doctoral Degree. The institute has taken pioneering initiatives towards the development of institutionalized linkages with industry, through its (i) Practice school, (ii) Technology Innovation Center, and (iii) Off-campus Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP). Today, 18,000+ students are enrolled on the campuses, and about 22,000+ working professionals are enrolled in WILP. The unique concept of dual degree programme for On-campus students helps them to equip for careers in interdisciplinary areas.
BITS Pilani-Pilani campus is spread over 328 acres, the campus is self-contained, and houses all the amenities and buildings that befit an institute of international standards. An intellectual powerhouse, the campus has successfully attracted healthy amounts of research funding from government grants and private bodies. The research facilities are wide-ranging, with a number of laboratories focused on all aspects of science, engineering, and technology.
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering at BITS, Pilani, which includes EEE, ECE and EIE streams, is one of the largest and the oldest departments on the campus. The department has earned a very high reputation in the country for the various degree programmes offered and also has established collaborative linkages with many institutions in the country and the universities abroad. The department emphasizes interdisciplinary and industrial research and collaborations to advance knowledge and educate students to best serve the nation and the world in the coming times.
This conference aims to provide some reliable and efficient design solutions for the next generation networks and systems. The concept of smart networks which encompasses various intelligent networks like the concept of smart grids and autonomous vehicles, to name a few, have led to various data efficient algorithm designs. Use of artificial intelligence to take the processing from the devices to the central servers along with the cloud based architecture design has provided many solutions for optimizing the power consumption and made user devices intelligent. The conference will enable a platform for researchers, scientists, engineers, policy makers and practitioners globally to present their latest research findings and ideas which fall under the scope of BITS-EEE-CON. Prospective authors are welcome to submit their original research work in the standard conference template given, describing new theoretical and/or experimental research results.
Participants from Academia, R&D Organizations, and Industries are invited to submit original and unpublished full
research papers in both theoretical and experimental domains on the following and other related topics.
