This course is intended to give students knowledge and skills about the digital manufacturing process as it relates to products. Its goal is to use digital technologies in manufacturing, services, supply chains, products, and processes. Digital manufacturing technology connects systems and processes throughout the manufacturing process resulting in an integrated manufacturing approach that spans design, production, and final product maintenance.
This course gives us insight into the concept of smart factories and digital transformation, including everything from digital twins to robotic process automation. Applications of Product Life Management, ERP, Value Chain Management, and IIoT are covered extensively. Additionally, the course dives into advanced subjects, including the demystification of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), the development of CPS components, the design of Robotic Arms for Industrial Automation, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Digital Manufacturing.
This holistic approach ensures that students not only grasp the fundamental concepts but also gain practical insights into cutting-edge technologies, making them adept professionals in the ever-evolving field of digital manufacturing.
