Teenage dreams so hard to beat
Trying to achieve every daring feat.
A blazing intensity every second
Flying as high as a flaming heaven.
Everything new - a fire in the blood -
A wild passion, quite unheard.
An unquenchable thirst to prove
A tireless determination to improve.
The ambition to get in everyone’s sight
A vague understanding of wrong and right.
Peer pressure hitting hard
Societal pressure playing its card.
Yes, some tough decisions to make
Career, life, really high stakes.
Expectations reaching sky high
Coming out of living in a lie.
The bubble of protection bursting in a blink
Fate changing decisions made in a wink.
Love at first sight, they all say
Heartbreaks, lessons learnt the hard way.
Friends forever, a thousand promises made
Some kept, some fade.
Realisations hitting hard
Learning to put on a façade.
Love, laugh, cry, learn
A lot lost, but much more to earn.
Tapping feet to a fleeting tune
Teenage days gone too soon.
