some relief was that Ms. Evelyn’s murder mystery was solved and they were safe. They both
gave their statements to the police and Emily was sent to a rehabilitation center.
A few days later, the investigation report was published which stated “Emily Smith, a 17 year
old girl, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she was 14 had run away from her
family three years back after she tried to burn her own house. It has been found that she has
been suffering from the disorder for almost a decade and has been convicted as a juvenile
murderer for the murder of Ms. Evans from Richmond Central School and 4 other people,
due to anger issues if someone scolds or shouts at her.” The news shook everyone in
Richmond. People didn’t know who to trust anymore. Amelia and Ben’s life was anything but
normal. They had seen a little too much dark times at a very young age. After this incident,
Amelia and Ben decided to stay each other’s truest friend and protect each other at all costs.
Several years passed. They grew up and went to New York University to pursue journalism.
Their lives were finally normal, they had a great group of talented and understanding friends,
and they were doing well in academics and were finally mentally stable after a long time.
One morning while they were having their breakfast in the cafeteria, hanging out with their
friends, a headline shook them and brought back a decade worth of dark memories when they
looked at the newspaper which a person sitting at the next table was reading.
They were speechless after reading the deadline and their feet went cold, for a healed wound
was scraped open by that headline. The headline read “Emily Smith, a 23 year old psychotic
murderer with bipolar disorder escaped the Virginia Central Jail last night.”
