After walking for what seemed like an eternity to his happiness, he saw a huge cave and he
could hear echoes coming from inside it. He made a decision to go inside and check out
whether or not the treasure was there. He made his way inside and the noises grew louder. He
could hear humans conversing and he was beginning to realize that he was perhaps in the
right place after all but had gotten a little too late. Finally, he reached the end of his journey
and realized he was deep inside the cave. His eyes straight away fell upon a small bag lying
on the ground at the other end of the enclosure he reached. It was a treasure!! Before he
could make any sort of movement, He felt a sharp searing pain behind his head and he felt as
if he was being swallowed into the darkness of the cave and with a loud thud he fell onto the
cold, rocky cave floor.
Upon waking up he realised he was bound and tied with ropes to a broken, rickety chair.
Noticing Tom awake, a dark silhouette shifted in the background and started to move towards
him. It was none other than Samuel himself. He said in a sneering voice, “Hey there Tommy
boy, while you may have been 2 steps ahead of me all this time, however I planned to follow
you all along and then pounce at the right moment right after you finished all the hard work
and me thereafter running away with the prize. The only thing I am surprised about was that
it took you that long to figure the riddle out.” Upon completing his statement he started
laughing rather hysterically with a sense of satisfaction and joy. Meanwhile on the other hand
Tom was feeling really frustrated and disappointed at the fact that he came second. A sinking
feeling was overpowering him and he knew that he could potentially be killed by these
people who wouldn’t even realize he was killed out here in the middle of nowhere. He
needed to get out as soon as possible and looked around frantically for anything to help his
cause. At that very moment a huge howl came right from outside the cave and echoed
throughout the cave where he was tied. One of Samuels’ henchmen told everyone that an
entire pack of wolves had swarmed the caves and had surrounded Samuel’s men guarding the
outside of the cave. Those howls then turned into loud shrieks of pain and anguish. It seemed
that without wasting even a moment the wolves had struck Samuel’s gang and were
completely obliterating them all one by one.
All the men left the cave including Samuel making Tom realize two things: Firstly, he didn’t
have much time and secondly the men left the treasure bag outside in the open and he could
take everything and make a dash for it if he somehow freed himself from the ropes. Using
this distraction as a window, he found a sharp stone lying a few feet away from him. Tom
hopped slowly but steadily towards where the stone lay and using his feet, he lifted the stone
and put it upright between his legs. He used the stone to cut open the ropes which was indeed
a tedious process however he got free. There was still no one in the cave with him and the
treasure was right there. Inside an unimpressive dirty bag rested 5 multicolored gemstones
that might have not seem worth all the blood, sweat and tears but were in reality extremely
valuable. He grabbed the stones and started to make a dash out of the cave when out of the
corner of his eye he saw Samuel fending off a wolf on his own. He was gravely injured and
was defenseless. Now Tom could easily make a dash for it, leaving Samuel behind to a
painful death, however for some reason his body moved on his own and in a flash, he ran
behind the wolf. Just as the wolf closed in for a fatal blow to Samuel, Tom stabbed the wolf
with 2 knives he picked up from inside the cave while running out. The wolf let out a final
howl and then fell onto the earth.
Tom then turned to Samuel and said, “Quick, let’s get away from here, grab my shoulder and
let’s run because it won’t be a lot of time before more members of the pack arrive!” Without
any hesitation, Samuel got up and supported Tom; they both made a dash for it. They did not
