Once in the north part of America, there lived a boy Jacob with his poor father Philips. It
was difficult for them to survive because they were very poor.
One day the son asked his father ‘what’s the value of my life?
The father smiled and replied son you wanna know the value of your life? Yes, he
said Hold this stone for me and take this to three different places.
The son was surprised and said it’s just a normal stone dad.
I know you still do. His dad told him not to say anything and if someone asks the price just
show them 2 fingers. His son agreed and moved to the market.
There Jacob met an old woman who asked how much for the stone, my dear? He didn’t say
anything and showed her 2 fingers. 2 dollars I’ll pay for it. The son was happy and ran back to
his father and told him everything that happened. He said now take this stone to the museum.
He agreed and took the stone to the museum. When he reached a young man came and asked
how much for the stone? The son was still quiet and showed two fingers. 200 dollars I’ll pay
for it. The son was happy again and run back to his father and told what the young man said.
He said okay now take this stone to the last place. He agreed and took that stone to the stone
collection palace. There the boy met an old man who became excited and said where was this
stone and how much for this?
The boy was still quiet and showed 2 fingers. 20.000 dollars I will pay for it. The boy was
shocked and quickly ran to his father and told him what had just happened. The father said, so
you see life is all about where you place it. Your value is different in different places. After all,
you have to decide if you want to become a 2-dollar stone or 20,000-dollar stone.
Point to remember: some people use you or love you like the way you are but some people
use you as a commodity.
