Jeanne: Because son you were too young. Also, your dad has always been your hero so I was

waiting for the right time to make you realise how big of a superhero he is.

Marcus (says in a sad cracking voice): Mom, I want to hug him tightly and tell him that I love

him the most and that he is my superhero but I am shy to do that. He never shares his feelings.
I see other kids’ dads hugging and kissing their kids but why does my dad never do all that?

Marcus: Son, your dad has always been an introverted person since his childhood. He has
always been shy to initiate conversations. That’s his nature; he doesn’t like sharing his feelings.

One reason for his introverted nature might be because he was always conscious about his
condition when he was in school. He doesn’t hold you tight in his arms but he loves you

unconditionally. He talks only to me about his deepest feelings. You are his world and his
whole life revolves around you. He works so hard to provide for you, to make your future

brighter and to give you the opportunities to achieve whatever you aspire for in life and he does

all that while working on one leg!

[Marcus instantly realises how wrong he read his dad and his love

                        for his dad increases exponentially.]

Marcus (starts crying and talks while fighting back his tears): Mom, one day I’ll become a
person, a human and a dad like my dad. I want to achieve everything to see that smile in his

face and tears in his eyes. I want him to hug me tightly and say that he is very proud of me.

Jeanne (a tear rolls down her eyes): Son, your dad and I are already very proud of you and I

am sure you’ll achieve everything you dream of. You always have our blessings and support.
               You are the best son.

[Jeanne turns to the nightstand and checks the time on her phone. Her

                        phone displays 4:06 am.]

Jeanne (gently closes her son’s eyelids and pats his head in a soft rhythm): Son, now sleep.

Don’t think about all this. You are the best and you should know that. Now, quickly go back
to sleep. Impress dad in the morning by waking up 5 minutes before him. Goodnight, my hero.

[The idea of impressing his superhero, his dad, makes Marcus really

excited and he quickly falls asleep.]

Marcus (speaks softly in a sleepy voice): Goodnight mom and dad. I love you both.

[Meanwhile his dad is pretending to sleep with his back facing
