This unique course provides the practical aspects of precast building design starting from the selection of the appropriate structural system considering design criteria at various stages, calculation of different loads & load combination in the building, modelling, analysis and design of large panel, frame systems, detailing of elements and the design of associated connections. The course also explains the plant production process, moulding & casting, curing, storage, transportation, handling, erection and quality inspection of precast elements.
Analytical skill for determinate & indeterminate structures and design knowledge of reinforced concrete members
Exposure to codes and standards (Indian standard codes for concrete, wind and earthquake design)
20 hours of self-paced interactive learning, including summative assessment and expert live interactions
At the end of the course, the student will be able to :
Compute loads (Dead, Superimposed, Live, Wind, Seismic) of various elements & services and select appropriate vertical & lateral load resisting systems for the various loads acting on the building
Create and Analyze a precast building model using ETABS software.
Design of precast building including connections adhering to the code requirements & functional aspects
