Gazing at the stars
Blinking now and then at her joyous cubs
Lying in her warmth
Surrounded by the grass
Feeling the gentle breeze
Moving over her body
Looking around in the darkness
For any danger that lay hidden for her cubs
Coming was the big day
Teach them to hunt she would
Soon they would taste their first kill
Roam the fiercest cats free then
High in the sky
The sun lie
Smiling at the tigress
Waiting for her highness
Getting to work
Locating a deer herd
Staying hidden in the grass
The trio waits
Waits for one to separate
To leave the herd behind and wander
And look there it is
Spotting a lonely fawn
Moving gracefully in the grass
To the perfect hunting spot
The grass unaware of what’s come by
Stay silent in the queen’s command
Now all that remains
Is to charge
And charge she will
Years of experience said – this is easy
Taking a step to start with
Taking another one to gain speed
And a few more to get more of it
Reaching her fastest
Little does the little one know
