Mom…. You Knew It
Vedant Parwal 2017A4PS0390P
As mom deftly held the pencil,
My tiny eyes at awe of her skill.
Little knowing, I too shall learn to write,
And forget the hand that taught me to write.
As mom held my hand secure,
My tiny legs struggling to fall in place.
Little knowing, I too shall learn to walk,
And forget the hand that taught me to trot.
As mom made me hold the spoon,
Guiding the tiny morsel into my tiny mouth.
Little knowing, I too shall learn to eat,
And forget the hand that taught me to feed.
As mom held my hand to wave,
My tiny hands were proud of the action.
Little knowing, I too shall learn this gesture,
And forget the hand that taught me to wave.
Now I know everything mom,
My tiny hands are bigger than yours.
You always knew I will grow out of you,
And forget the hands that taught me,
Still you taught me everything you knew.
Mom, I shall never forget,
One day I shall guide you.
Little you will know, I shall teach you,
Things new and novel in this world of me and you.
