                                                         Hope

Barefoot, he walked under the scourging sun.

He looked for water, where there was none.

Along, he drifted through the boiling sand,
Then broke to a point, when he couldn’t stand.

For miles, he saw not a single soul,

The trance he was in, went out of control.

Lucid images of someone he could see,
Who used to make him feel adorably free?

It kept him going when all hope was lost,

Challenges and barriers of the desert he crossed.

He stopped near the mirage to gaze and stare,
The eyes he saw were filled with care.

Struck by the image, endlessly he walked.

The mirage had saved a man, crushed and distraught.
Conquering the journey, his wounds found a cure,

For a daughter’s love is always this pure.
