Care and Nurse people In need. Help to your maximum capacity.
Amplify voices of the marginalised. Talk about the affected. Don’t let the voiceless die.
Cook and feed those in need
Take care of yourself. Give time for self-care.
Save money. For yourself. To help those in need. To empower yourself and the women around
you.
Build a home. Build a home where you find peace.
Accept yourself. Accept your quirks and flaws. Accept all parts of you.
Fall in love. Fall in love again. Fall in love with yourself.
Choose your well-being. Choose yourself and your happiness over and over again.
Save yourself. Save yourself.
In times of conflict remember to pray. Pray for peace. Pray for better choices. Pray that things
will turn out okay
“Wow, Meera. You are getting good at this.” He chuckles and adds “But, but, but. Let’s wait.
One more important thing. To stay in the moment. We will keep adding to the list. Let’s enjoy
this moment. By the falls. Let’s savour this joy”
“While the world burns?” I ask
“Do you know about Mahmoud Darwish?” he says
“Yes. The Palestinian poet” I reply
Here’s one of his favourite poems by him.
She said: when will we meet?
I said: A year after the war ends
She said: When will the war end?
I said: When we meet”
“Wow. That’s lovely” I say
“I am trying to tell you that there’s hope. And there’s love. And that’s a good reason to do it
all” he says.
“I am saying to Meera, there’s always going to be conflict. But there will always be hope. And
as long as we keep fighting for that hope there will always be something to stay here a little
longer” he adds
I hum to myself and hold his hand. We move ahead as the tourists now are preparing to return
home
