[There is a sound of shattering glass, and due to the sturdy make of the glass beer mug and the
large momentum, the blunt trauma on Joseph’s head disorients him. He falls from his chair,
falling on the wooden floor with an audible creak from the wooden planks.]
Joseph: (In a concussed state, with a weak voice) What… just… just happen-
[Before he can finish his sentence however, Luke jumps over the bartender’s counter, and
stomps many times on Joseph's face with a massive force. With each stomp you can hear
Joseph’s cries, until he finally falls silent and blood lines Luke’s shoes.]
Ritchie: (In a voice full of fury) Serves you right Catholic scum! Why don’t you preach the
words of dear Lord now, huh?! How about you beg for forgiveness? Will praying get you
salvation?! An eye for an eye!
[Luke is about to say something but there is a general commotion outside. Both turn their heads
outside to see the man in the red t-shirt up, and walking about just fine, speaking to his
assailants without any trace of hatred. Clearly, something is not right.]
Director: And cut! Beautifully done, everyone! We can wrap up now, if there is no issues from
the filming crew’s side.
Camera operator: No issues, Sir director. We can wrap up for tonight.
[During this a policeman, who was present at the filming for maintaining decorum is talking
to the actors. There is general discourse as expected of public gatherings.]
[Luke, sober, and now having realised what had just transpired, rushed towards the door of
the tavern, changed the sign to “Closed” and shut the door and locked it. Ritchie, who is still
a little drunk, now starts to realise the gravity of what has happened.]
Luke: (With indescribable horror on his face) Oh Lord.
Ritchie: (With similar horror on his face, bending down and checking Joseph’s pulse) …He’s
dead.
Luke: (Putting his hands over his head, in clear distraught) Oh Lord…
[Ritchie runs towards his coat and fedora, takes them off the rack in a hurry, and escapes from
the back door behind the bartender’s counter.]
[As Luke takes a seat, still letting the gravity of the situation sink in, a strong knock is hear on
the door.]
Policeman: Hello! I am an officer from the Belfast Police Department! There is a filming that
was taking place outside the bar, and we heard a large crash post filming! Everything alright?
[Luke’s eyes widen and his head slowly towards the door.]
Policeman: (Knocking harder) Hello! Is anybody there? Please Answer!
[As consecutive knocks from the policeman are heard, the curtain falls.]
