Johnathan P. Hunt has been accused of stealing his colleague – Ms. Laura Kenneth’s car. Ms.
Kenneth had apparently been collecting evidence to prove Mr. Hunt having embezzled
company funds as well as blackmailing his superiors.
Scene 1: Inside the jury members meeting room, about two hundred square feet large. The
room is designed in a modern way with large glass windows on the left, right and the back, a
wooden floor with a simplistic carpet in the middle atop which a round wooden table was
placed. Six people – four men and two women – are seated around the table, discussing the
case they need to judge. The three men are seated to the right while the rest are on the left with
the man closest to the back wall and the women closer to the front. On the table is an assortment
of papers, transcripts and pictures related to the case. On the back wall is a calendar highlighting
th
the date as 20 of September, 2021. The jury has seen the proceedings of the court and though
the police have been able to get various pieces of evidences, there is nothing concrete that has
stuck to Mr. Hunt. And thus, the final decision has been left to the jury.
Jacob (forward right): As I see it, Hunt definitely has the motive to have committed the crime
but also has an alibi to prove his innocence. The office system shows that his card was swiped
to go in but that he only left at about 11 pm, half an hour after her car was actually stolen.
Harry (middle right): Even his motive is just a baseless allegation. Kenneth ‘says’ that she had
those incriminating documents, and yes, she is a part of the finance department of her office
but I have not seen any proof that these documents ever existed!
Jenna (middle left): We do have proof that they existed. Or more like, a complete lack of any
financial records in any company transaction involving Mr. Hunt in Ms. Kenneth’s analysis of
the company’s transactions. I believe this to be a suspiciously convenient lack of records in
favour of Mr. Hunt.
Johnson (back left): That just means that Mr. Hunt may have something to hide. Nothing to tie
him to this case. Just seems to me that Ms. Kenneth is whining that her car was stolen and is
trying to play the blame game.
George (back right): I am with Jenna on this. That lack of records on Mr. Hunt’s transaction is
dubious at best.
Mary (forward left): I think that Mr. Hunt’s alibi might have been faked.
Others: What?
