DAMINI: I know that you used to set like 5-6 alarms. Your phone would ring every five
minutes, how could you even sleep like that.
ROHIT: Those extra 15-20 minutes give you enough refreshment for the morning. It prepares
you well for the rest of the day.
DAMINI: I am getting what you are trying to say. Don’t you think a refreshing day would be
even better?
ROHIT: I liked your choice of living a life on your terms.
DAMINI: I always felt that peace and mindfulness are important. I was not satisfied with
corporate life. I am not saying it was bad, but I was not made for this. Taking care of the
home and giving lessons to children brought immense joy.
ROHIT: As you said, you are going to miss the things from your everyday life, but if I think
about it, I am not going to miss other things more than my work which I devoted most of my
time to. I thought of life as checkpoints and not as a journey. I was blind to such an extent
that I even ignored the most amazing things in life in quest of something not that worthwhile.
DAMINI: Rohit, you know what? Being driven is something that demands a big price. It
takes maturity, presence of mind, and self-realization to balance all the aspects of life.
ROHIT: I thought that life was going my way, till our car went out of the way.
DAMINI: You had a plan for your life, and you were going with that idea, without realizing
that life does not come with an expiry date, and rather than planning about the future, you
must cherish your present moments. You should appreciate the things you are blessed with.
(Rohit and Damini are both silent for some time.)
DAMINI: I think the conversation got a little serious. (Points in the sky) Look there, the rays
of sun are passing between the trees. It feels so sublime here.
ROHIT: (Smiles) what else can you expect from a conversation with “a philosopher”?
(Hustling in the forest.)
DAMINI: Did you hear the sound?
ROHIT: Look there, it is a deer.
(Both go close to the deer and see a family of deer standing in round fashion)
ROHIT: Even the deer understand what is important to them. We humans, even with a higher
sense of intelligence, tend to complicate things. With the intelligence that we have been
gifted, rather than solving complex things, we do the complete opposite, we make simple
things complex.
DAMINI: You have become a “philosopher” yourself. Wish you were a fast learner before.
ROHIT: Why didn’t we have a conversation like this, when we were alive?
