Ron: (Repeats in a louder voice) Declan, wake up!
(Again no response from Declan)
Ron: Oh my god, did I actually kill him? No, I can’t believe it. Dec, wake up goddammit.
Please.
(Declan remains still, lifeless on the ground. Ron sits on the floor next to his dead friend
petrified and in grief. Ron’s tears continuously fall and he decides to bury him in the garden.
He grabs a shovel and digs for 2 hours at a stretch. Upon creating a hole big enough to fit his
body in, he gently places him in. He then goes back inside and gets a golden plate, puts the
remainder of the turkey he had had prepared for him and says sorry to him for reacting in
such an appalling and disgraceful way. He then covers the hole up and once again tears swell
up in eyes. As if on cue, It starts to rain and rather than running inside, Ron sits there empty
and alone, looking up at the sky as the drops of rain begin to hit his face, almost as if the rain
gods were punishing him for his heinous crime.)
(Ron eventually gets up from his spot outside his garden and tries to think about what he
should do next. He cannot bring himself to stay in England anymore and decides to leave
everything behind and run away. He decides to take a ferry to France and restart his life
afresh. Eventually he makes it to France, buys a small house and begins life over there. Back
in England however it is realised by Declan’s and Ron’s colleagues that both of them have
been missing for a while now. The police are conducting an investigation and posters are
stuck everywhere in the hope of finding either of the two men. Sam meanwhile decides to
conduct his own private investigation to find his business partners. He has always been aware
of the fact that both men were envious of him. He was also a massive believer in the words
‘Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.’ As a result around a year ago he had had
one of his contacts place micro- sized cameras and audio recording devices in the houses of
both Declan and Ron, covering every nook and corner which he regularly checks to see in
case they were doing something shady to bring his name and reputation down and
accordingly be ready for whatever they plan to throw at him. He decides to watch and listen
into some of the recordings from both houses in the hope of uncovering the truth. Upon
watching the videos, to his utter disbelief he sees the entire scene in the dining room unfold
in front of his eyes. The plotting of his murder to their arguments pertaining to what happens
to the company after his disposal followed by the gruesome murder of Declan by Ron. He
cannot believe that his very own business partners were ready to kill him. He is filled with
rage and anger and as a result he plans on getting Ron murdered too. Like Declan, Sam also
had contacts with the mafia and he decides to get Ron murdered, in the same way these guys
had planned his murder. He calls Barnabus’s representative and promises to give him 3 times
the money they were offering him. Upon wiring the cash to Barnabus’s representative, he is
asked to wait for 3 days maximum for the job to get done. Barnabus was indeed a man of his
word. He found Ron within the next 2 days, living in a small cottage in Lille and shot him
dead. The next day Sam receives a parcel from an anonymous address in his name. Upon
opening the parcel the contents included pictures of Ron shot straight in the head along with
an expensive, custom made Rolex that Ron always used to wear, further cementing the proof
that he was indeed dead. Sam looks through the proof once more just to be certain, puts
everything inside a box and upon doing so smiles to himself as he tapes the box shut. He
