               built.

Betty (8): A bubbly and cheerful girl. Brown, curly hair. Thin and pale, with rosy cheeks.
Charles (37); Betty’s father. Balding with greying hair. Has a bit of a belly.

Barista (early 20s): Blonde hair. Slender built. Always smiling.
Person (late 20s): Office goer. Black hair and bespectacled. Tall and muscular with a serious

               face.
(A small cafe. The cafe is of size 20 ft by 30 ft. The door to the cafe is at the centre on the right

and there is a large window of size 10 ft by 12 ft on the left. The door rings a bell when it is

opened. There are 8 circular tables arranged in an orderly manner. Each table has 2 chairs.
At the back of the stage is the coffee counter. The counter has a coffee dispenser, a pot for

serving coffee, a microwave oven and some cups of various shapes and sizes. The food display

has several pastries of different flavours and some savouries too. The Barista is standing
behind the counter doing her work. Some calm music is playing in the background. There are

just two other people in the cafe. A person is sitting at one of the corner tables, working on his
laptop, and now and then taking a sip of his coffee. Albert is sitting at a table in the centre of

the stage. There is a half-eaten pastry at his table and a cup of coffee. He seems nervous. Just
then the bell chimes and the door opens. Betty enters the cafe. She is chirpy. Albert looks up

and smiles. He stands and Betty walks to his table.)

Albert: Hello young lady! You must be Betty. It is so nice to meet you! How are you doing
               today?

Betty: Hi! I’m fine. How are you?
Albert: I am doing great, now that I have met you. Would you like some coffee?

Betty: Yes. Thank you! Can I get a chocolate pastry too?
Albert: Why sure sweetie! You take a seat over here while I go and get your order.

(Albert walks towards the counter while Betty sits on the other chair at Albert’s table. Albert

talks to the barista about Betty’s order. Betty is restless in her seat, looking around and shaking
her legs. Albert returns to the table with Betty’s order.)
