Breakage/ Mania
Aneri Jain 2017B4A30759P
The breeze blew the blue silent
Fate forewarned the new assailant
Mania conquered the boy young
Once vibrant and now unstrung.
Breaking away bit by bit
Falling down an endless pit
Numb- so numb he can’t feel
That it’s his skin that's being peeled.
So dazed and confused he fused
This new darkness in his bruise
Rage and control he craved some more
In grief and pain it's himself he tore.
War was peace and peace was war
He fought and burnt away his core
Tearing and ripping until no life
He saw his hand move 'tward a knife.
The maniac-
He expressed so less
Devoid of a simple caress
So stress and stress then broke his will
Devout demonic devour digressed in self- kill.
So the end was it? The last fit?
The floor of this devilish pit?
So weak was he? To not be free?
To go on a self-killing spree?
We joy, enjoy the careless mess
Swim in a world that wouldn’t care less
The strong we think wouldn’t fall in a sink
The weak and fallen would rot and stink
'Fool' you say yet fool you are
A man he fell before he flew far
A life ended alone in vain
Yet you don’t mean to share the pain.
You-
yes, YOU ignored this disease.
Every day he must’ve begged please
To let him go and grow and glow
To see another new tomorrow.
