Anna: Oh boy, here we go. I didn’t ask for a shrink.

Tailor: I didn’t ask for you to be here. Deal with it. What brings you in today?
Anna: You brought me in, remember? Because you were thinking about how you were a bad

               therapist.
Tailor: And why do you think that is?

               Anna: I dunno.

Tailor: Well I’m gonna need an answer.
Anna: Maybe you think you’re a bad therapist because you are a bad therapist.

               Tailor: Not good enough. Again.
Anna: I don’t like this question.

Tailor: Neither do I. Keep going.

Anna: Maybe you think you’re a bad therapist because Jess isn’t making as much progress as
               you’d like.

Tailor: Does the lack of progress of a single client mean that I am a bad therapist?
Anna: Well... when you put it that way...

               Tailor: Does it?
               Anna (quickly) No.

Tailor: Okay, so then I’m a good therapist?

Anna: A good therapist doesn’t kill their brother.
(A pause. Tailor’s demeanor completely changes. Her expression becomes very grave and

               serious.)
Tailor: Don’t you dare bring Ashton into this.

(Anna pulls out another document from the manilla folder. They wave it in the air

               enthusiastically.) Anna
Ding ding ding! You guessed correctly!

Tailor: That wasn’t my fault and you know it.
Anna: See, that’s where I’m not so sure. You were the one driving after all.

               (Tailor gets more defensive.)

               Tailor: It was an accident.
Anna: According to the law, it was actually your fault.

Tailor: I didn’t see the other car.
Anna: Accident or not, child endangerment is still child endangerment.

(Tailor pauses. She tears up as she remembers her past. She stands up and walks to the furthest
side of the room from Anna as she begins to hyperventilate.)

                                                                                                      244
