(Captain angrily glares at the interrogator)
(An inspector rushes into the room with a file and gives it to the captain. Both stand up from
their seats, talk in hushed tone for some time and then the captain leaves the room)
Interrogator: (reading a file) your grandfather’s abandoned house is close to wherever
Mukul’s body was found, right?
David: Sorry, detective. I need my lawyer. It has been 5 hours of interrogation. According to
article 563-A, a suspect has to be provided with a lawyer beyond 5 hours of interrogation. I
need my lawyer Mr. Karan Gupta. (Gives him the card)
(Both leave the area)
Captain: (seething in anger) Bloody laws……... we had cornered him somehow and now he
won’t talk.
Interrogator: I talked to Karan. He lives outside NCR. It will take more than an hour to reach
here. I offered David our lawyer but he refused. The son of a bitch knows how to manipulate
people.
Polygrapher: Captain, He is not lying at all. I guess he is innocent. Let him go
Captain: Let him go-No way, We finally have a lead plus it is a high profile case, we need to
investigate everything. Plus Mahendra Ji says he is the culprit, I got a call from the
commissioner that we cannot let him go.
Polygrapher: As you say sir. But according to my machines, he is not lying.
Captain: Just do your job.
(Turns to the interrogator)
We have a lead, meanwhile, you dig more into David and his grandfather, pull up call
records, talk to the grandfather, call the neighbours-anything and everything- i want some dirt
on him.
Interrogator: O..n..n it Sir.
(After an hour and a half, Karan arrives)
Karan: All good? If they have even tried to touch you, I will sue them all.
David: Don't worry, I’m all fine, I simply want them to scrub the table. It’s sticky.
Karan: Article 564 states that a suspect is to be treated with utmost care. Please clean the
table.
(Captain and Interrogator Enters)
Captain: Your client is all well I assume.
Karan: You have got four more hours or else we are filing a harassment case.
